Ruth Treadway
November 12, 1935 - April 5, 2024 (Age 88)
Ruth Treadway, 88, was a 5th generation grandmother from Lancaster, PA formerly of Manheim, PA died on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Manheim, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Estella (Bachman) Schaeffer.
She and her husband were Co-Owners of the Treadway’s Bait & Tackle shop in Lancaster.
Ruth is survived by her five children: Gary Treadway (Ruth), Allen Treadway (Tiffany), Lorraine Shutter (Greg), Edward Treadway (Penny), and Brenda Treadway; her 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; her 3 sisters, Linda, Doris, and Gloria; and her close family friends, Angie Crusey and Benjamin Ildefonso. The family would like to thank Jazmyne Majors who was a very loyal daytime caregiver for the past 1 and a half years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Treadway, Sr., her son, Thomas J. Treadway Jr., her grandson, Thomas H. Hoffman; and her nine siblings.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ruth Treadway’s memory to Raven Ridge Wildlife Center, Post Office Box 38, Washington Boro, PA 17582. Ruth loved to watch the Eagle Cam in Hanover, PA.
Burial Service will be private at Riverview Burial Park in Lancaster.
